Eagle Farm is an eastern industrial suburb of the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The suburb is situated 8.5 kilometres north-east of the Brisbane central business district. It is within the Australia TradeCoast, an industrial-development zone.
In 1829, Commandant Patrick Logan chose the well-watered, fertile site between the Brisbane River and Serpentine Creek for agricultural use. This farm was also used as a place to keep female convicts.
Eagle Farm first appeared as a name in 1839. Its origin apparently arose from eagles being observed around the farm.
Eagle farm has heritage-listed sites including Eagle Farm Women's Prison and Factory Site, one of Australia’s five sites of female houses of correction, and one of a small number of convict sites.
The Second World War Hangar No. 7, an aircraft hangar used in World War II, and the Allison Engine Testing Stands that was built in 1942-1943 to test aircraft engines which became known as the last WWII engine testing stand.
